Tremont Junior High School became Tremont Middle School in the fall of 2008 when the building expansion was completed and we welcomed the 5th grade to the Middle School.
Developmentally, we knew once the 5th grade was relocated that calling ourselves a "junior" high school would not properly indicate what we offer our students. Today, we focus on four core areas in all of our programs--academic excellence, developmental responsiveness, social equity, and organizational structure and support.
The Heyworth community honored Tremont's girls basketball team manager, Jacie Hild, in their conference match up on December 11, 2017. Both teams sported the blue tshirts supporting Jacie's cause. Jacie has been battling Ewing Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer, and the Heyworth Basketball team presented her with a blanket and teddy bear, reminding her that she has friends all over Central Illinois. Along with these gifts, Heyworth Grade School dedicated their entire $7,096.00 collected from this year's St. Jude Math-a-Thon to Jacie's battle with Cancer. The money was sent to St. Jude and will help the fight against childhhood cancer. The Tremont community would like the thank Heyworth for their kindness and giving spirit!
Students at the Middle School have done a great job decorating classroom doors to display the anti-bullying/drug-free themes being discussed during our Snowflake Week! Which door would YOU choose as the contest winner?
